We tell teams the truth about their product state.

In 2018 we were QA engineers inside product teams, and every one of us knew the same routine. You spend more energy arguing with development than testing. The processes were set up years ago and nobody has time to change them. You want to try a new tool or a new approach, and there is never room for it.

We got tired of that, so we started AssertQA. The idea was simple: a team where QA engineers have the time and the freedom to learn, try things and find better ways to test.

One of the first things we did was drop Selenium. It was the industry standard then, and we still took it out of our web automation offer and focused on Cypress. Few companies had made that move. We learned it as it grew, and since then we have moved several large companies from Selenium to Cypress.

Mobile is where we are just as strict. We saw that a simulator or an emulator is never a guarantee of quality, and the growth of mobile apps proved it. We test on real devices, automated and manual.

We choose tools for each team, not for ourselves. The tool is not the result. What we do with it is. We run internal workshops and evaluate new tools all the time, so we can pick the one that fits the client.

If something does not work, we say that it does not work. We think it is our duty to tell the team and the stakeholders early, clearly and with the evidence behind it. No one is too senior and no deadline is too tight for that. We treat each other the same way. Inside the team we are analytical, direct and honest.

Our teams are small and stay together for a long time. We know the product, the release rhythm and the people. Every client gets the same effort, because their result is our result. We know that working as an external team makes collaboration harder, and we take responsibility for that.

We are selective. Our clients are mature companies that treat QA as a required part of building a product, like any other engineering discipline.

From 2018 to 2023, our colleagues taught QA courses at IT schools across the region. More than 1,500 people trained with us to become QA engineers. Many joined our team, and many others went on to work at other companies. This is the part of our work we are proudest of.

We also take part in humanitarian actions, with money and in person. Working online, we value regular contact with people outside IT. In 2024 the municipality of Rakovica recognized us for our contribution to local development.
